A wonderful hawk flight was recorded this morning at Cromwell Valley Park by several cold but thrilled observers. Winds out of the WNW at 15 to 24 mph provided lift from the ridges on both sides of the valley. Highlights included 6 adult B.Eagles , and a group of 5 Red-shouldered hawks passing directly over head. Our Red-shouldered hawk count of 15 was one of the highest totals of all the watch-sites
reported today! Red-tails produced a fairly steady flight all morning until about 11:45 when the flight seemed to dwindle considerably.

Totals - CROMWELL VALLEY PARK HAWKWATCH - Sat. 11/22/08 - 8:30 am to 12 noon
Observers: Andy Smith, Mark Miller, Jim Meyers - Visitors: Dan & Georgia Mcdonald

Red-tailed Hawk - 56
Red-shouldered Hawk - 15
B. Eagle - 6
Sharp-shinned Hawk - 2
