Good Morning,

Marcy Stutzman, Winger West and I birded the famous Greenbury Point in
Annapolis this morning from 7 to 9ish. We really meant for our
birding to end at 9 sharp! Why does it always seem to become 9ish? My
wife wonders the reason for this frequently-occurring 'time-change'
whenever I'm out in the field.

The catbirds were abundant. I counted seven. Last year we had one
winter on the point. We had a PEREGRINE FALCON flying first up high
up the Severn towards the bridges. Soon, it reappeared and darted out
over the bay. Finally, after we rounded the tip of the point, the
falcon came lumbering back to the tower farthest to the South with a
good-sized meal in it's talons. We enjoyed watching it pull feathers
for a while, but that only made our minds drift to what we were going
to have for breakfast. I've still not had any, but I'm thinking
donuts!

Lastly, on the way home there was an AMERICAN KESTREL perched on the
trees near the entrance (golf course area). A delightful morning.
Now I have to go get some breakfast and learn some songs for today's
Children's Holiday Show at Maryland Hall in Annapolis. I'm singing
"Rudolph, the..." well, you know the tune.
