Snowy Owls, etc.

Greetings,
This is a link to some of the photos I took over the last 3 days. The
Snowy Owl was present and accounted for at Assateague National Seashore.
He was about 6 miles south of the entrance for over sand vehicles on
Saturday and Sunday. I was not able to find him on Friday afternoon. I
probably just overlooked him. While watching him a Bald Eagle flew onto
the beach with a fish and began to eat it. Great Black-backed Gulls flew
by periodically to harass the owl at a very respectful distance. On the
way out Sunday Long-tailed Ducks fed just off the Verazzano (sp) Bridge.
At Blackwater I didn't see the White Pelicans or any Snow Geese. I
cruised Shorter's Wharf Road looking for Short-eared Owls for over an
hour at the end of the day. One finally showed up as dusk turned to
night. He was sitting right by the road on a small tuft of grass in a
pool of water staring intently into it.
Do Short-eared Owls fish?
I hope you enjoy the photos
