Hi all,
I stopped at Greenbridge Rd. area of Triadelphia Reservoir on my way back
home about an hour ago, and scoped the water for waterfowl, etc. No waterfowl,
a few RBGU's and an adult MERLIN were seen. The Merlin was initially seen at
the end of a spit of land on the Howard County side looking almost straight
across the water from Greenbridge Rd boat launch. When I first spotted it, it
was being harassed by a gull, and the Merlin lifted up from the shore and
landed on a high rock at its edge. I then went back to my van for my scope (I
first went down with just bins), and when I returned, the falcon had moved left
to the next spit of land, and was again sitting atop a large rock on the
shore. I watched it a while and it appeared to be eating something on the edge
of the water when I left. Looked like an adult male.
