Over the past few years, I know many of us have been fortunate enough to have been allowed on to some home owners property to view a rarity. While I and I'm sure others have profusely thanked the home owner and even may have sent them a note or an email thanking them, does MOS have a program whereby either folks at the state level or the chapter level send or better yet, personally hand out a small (like 8 1/2 by a 11) MOS certificate accompanied by an 8x10 glossy photo of the bird "officially" thanking them for their hospitality, patience and interest. Besides being a courteous thing to do, it might foster further reporting in the future, interest the home owner to become more interested in birds and ecology and possibly assuage the own homer of any improprieties inflicted on them by that one birder who doesn't follow the rules (parked in their drive way, walked where they weren't suppose to, left a gate open, was rude to the home owner etc).

Just a suggestion.
