I got out for a couple hours this afternoon and enjoyed the winter sunshine
at Rocky Gap State Park. I was hoping I might come across some White-winged
Crossbills feeding in the Table-mountain and White pines at the park. There
was certainly an abundance of cones, but I'm not sure if crossbills would
untilize these. At any rate, no crossbills were found, but I did manage to
find 3 PINE SISKINS, 4 RED-BREASTED NUTHATCHES, and a single HERMIT THRUSH.
