Following up on Kevin Graff's ovservations of 01/03/09, today, 4 JAN at
2:47pm/DST the Tundra Swan count was up to 5 among the Canadas and mallards - no other waterfowl species were present in a quick glance with my 7x bins. A "flock" of 5 or more Flickers flew from the S border of the pond coming to rest in the tops of some trees not far south of the pond...

At the homesite & feeders in recent days:
Siskins, Goldfinches, N Cardinals, etc. An imm Yellow-bellied Sapsucker continues to try to make a "honeypot" out of my decidious Magnolia...a Flicker at the suet feeder made woodpecker speices #3 for 2009.
Red-bellied is the only other usual visitor yet to show this year...
