I went to the LBJ grove this morning (Sat, 1/10) and relocated the mixed
flock of passerines in the same area where Mike Bowen reported them a
week ago - in the pines at the north end of the park (just past where
the path loops back). In the flock I found:
1 Yellow-throated Warbler
2 Pine Warblers
1 Orange-crowned Warbler (continues to be the most difficult one to
find)
4+ Carolina Chickadees
3 Golden-crowned Kinglets
I hope the warblers make it through the extremely cold temperatures
forecasted for the end of the coming week.
Good birding,
