Good Afternoon All,

I arrived to Cambridge early this morning only to find Bill and Mikey
(do we even need to use their last names anymore?) already on the
Tufted Duck. They mentioned that there was this rather interesting
Goldeneye hanging out in the marina with a pinkish bill, but figured
they'd worry about that one later. First we needed to photograph and
enjoy the TUFTED DUCK. The rest, now history, I will let Bill and
Mikey tell in a future MDOSPREY post.

And so, after a truly exciting morning of waterfowl at the Cambridge
waterfront, I ventured back to the Western Shore.

I quickly dropped by the flock of Canada Geese on Whitehall Road off
of Rt 50 and found Stan's recently reported Cackling Goose.

Later, Declan and I wanted to go for a walk. We packed up the car and
headed to Thomas Point State Park. The REDHEAD is still hanging out
with the now much larger flock of Canvasback on the South River side
of the Point.

The RED THROATED LOON is still present at the end of the point, also
on the South side. Two HORNED GREBES were working the North side of
the Point. Despite Declan's pleas to pick out the Black or
White-Winged Scoter from the raft of Surf Scoters out in the Bay, I
told him it was too cold for his Dad and so we headed home for some
warm lasagna (which is just about ready).

Good Birding everyone,

Dan Haas

The photos I took of the Barrow's Goldeneye, Eurasian Wigeon and the
Tufted Duck will soon be posted here: http://wahzoh.blogspot.com/
