Blackwater NWR January 23

First time at Blackwater in quite some time.  Was hoping to see the  
Golden, but no luck.  Did see a nice variety of birds and will place  
photos on my blog later today.  What I saw included:


Key Wallace Drive just beyond the visitor center

     Killdeer (6)  all individual birds on the road shoulder


Woodland Trail

    Pileated Woodpecker (1)
    Red-breasted Woodpecker (1)
    Downy Woodpecker (1 heard, not seen)
    Robin (50+)
    White-throated Sparrow (5)
    Song Sparrow (1)  Will need ID help to confirm
    Hermit Thrush (1)
    Carolina Wren (1)
    Carolina Chickadee (3)
    White-breasted Nuthatch (4)
    Ruby-crowned Kinglet (1)  Will need ID help to confirm
