I had 2 Phoebees in the yard this afternoon and a Kildeer was calling in the
field across the street.
I stopped by Bombay Hook on Friday. The ponds were mostly frozen over with
few waterfowl. The highlight was on the way out along the access road. I
saw at least 50 Boat-tailed Grackles in a field just before Rt. 9. (Is a
large group of Boat-tailed Grackles called a mooring of Grackles???) The
sun was right and the males glistened but I thought the females were
stunning.
The tide at Port Mahon was extremely low and there were 12 Dunlin working
the mud.
