First the easy part-- stopped by Druid Ridge briefly today from 11 to 12. No sign of the White-winged Crossbills by myself or anyone else this morning. I hope people continue to post sightings as I plan on continuing my attempts at seeing them (fourth try today).
I drove to Ocean City on Saturday 1/24/2009 and birded the inlet and Elliot Pond, as well as another inlet to the north. Overall, good variety. The highlight was a single female COMMON EIDER at the end of the jetty. I also had a possible LITTLE GULL, but the look was brief as it flew out toward the ocean. It appeared to have dark under wings, but I would have preferred a better look before laying claim.
