My wife didn't get a chance to see the WW Crossbills yesterday so we stopped by 3445 Jennings Chapel Road at 2 PM to see if any were still around. John Maloney and his wife soon joined us.

As we were waiting one of the landowners, there are multiple owners who use this driveway, arrived and wanted to know what was happening so we told him about the special visitors that were being seen. He was quite interested in learning about the crossbills and asked lots of questions. He has multiple bird feeders at his house and was hoping that he might see the crossbills at his feeders. About that time a flock of 10 birds showed up and some gave us nice views as they sat on exposed branches. I let the owner use my bins so he could get a good look at a nearby WW Crossbill.

The owner did caution us that one of the homeowners gets very nervous when strangers come down the road so he requested that birders do not go beyond the end of the spruce trees. That is certainly a restriction we can live with.
