Hi all. While doing a Stormwater Pond inspection today at Gore plant on Appleton Road in Elkton, I stumbled on to a Chickadee doing a Black capped Chickadee call note. After I examined it for a few minutes at close range, I am very satisfied that this is a Black-capped. This bird was very cleanly marked. The size and shape of the bird stuck out. The white nape, bold white marks on the wing, the jagged black throat and the general jizz of the bird made this one easy for me. I was able to get a couple photographs.

You can check out the photograph of a Carolina Chickadee I have for compairson. Note on the Carolina less white in the wing, a clean marked line on the black throat. The Black-capped has a over all more frosted look a much whiter nape.
