Hey everyone-

At the beginning of 2009, I set a goal for myself to get my lifelist in MD up to 300 species by the end of the year. Right now, I am at 269 species seen in MD, so I need 31 more over the next 11 months in order to reach my goal. I have created a list of possible MD lifers that occur once or twice a year at the least, and was wondering if, throughout they year, any of you could give me recommendations of the best places to go to check off a certain species. Here's the list:

)Great Cormorant
)White Ibis
)Greater White-Fronted Goose
)Ross's Goose
)Trumpeter Swan
)Golden Eagle
)Ring-Necked Pheasant
)King Rail
)Sora
)Black Rail
)Black-Necked Stilt
)Solitary Sandpiper
)Marbled Godwit
)Red Knot
)American Woodcock
)Long-Billed Dowitcher
)Little Gull
)Thayer's Gull
)Glaucous Gull
)Black Tern
)Barn Owl
)Long-Eared Owl
)Chuck-Will's-Widow
)Whip-poor-will
)Olive-Sided Flycatcher
)Yellow-Bellied Flycatcher
)Western Kingbird
)Philadelphia Vireo
)Cave Swallow
)Sedge Wren
)Gray-Cheeked Thrush
)Bay-Breasted Warbler
)Blue-Winged Warbler
)Golden-Winged Warbler
)Tennessee Warbler
)Northern Waterthrush
)Connecticut Warbler
)Mourning Warbler
)Wilson's Warbler
)Dickcissel
)Clay-Colored Sparrow
)Saltmarsh Sharp-Tailed Sparrow
)Nelson's Sharp-Tailed Sparrow
)Lark Sparrow
)Lapland Longspur
)Brewer's Blackbird
)Red Crossbill
)Northern Goshawk

As you can see, some of these birds should be easy pick-ups, while others will mostly depend on luck. I figure since I need 31 of the 48 I came up with, this goal will definitely be possible to attain.

Thanks,
