The Snowy Owl in Oxford made two appearances this morning. One I was told by Carol McCollough around 9:25 a.m.

The second time was around 11:25 a.m. I arrived at the lab, signed in, Carol came and took me to the employee's lounge. She was just pointing out the pump house when the Snowy Owl flew from behind it and landed to the right on the top of the pergola of the open air fish buidling. I immediately put Carol's scope on it and watched it for serveral minutes.

About that time, Tom Jones arrived in the parking lot, got a quick look, before the owl flew to the right and down (perhaps into the phragmites for a quick bite).

Leo Weigant arrived a bit later. Tom and I left around 12:30-12:40 and the owl had not reappeard.

I'd like to thank Carol McCollough, her co-workers, and the Lab's Director for their hospitality and making it possible to see the Snowy Owl up close and personal.
