The Himalayan kingdom of Bhutan is one of the world's premier birding
destinations, both for its variety of superb species and its enlightened
environmental policies that have protected the extensive forests and their
wildlife. Only open to tourism since 1979, Bhutan welcomes birders and other
lovers of natural beauty. Gail Mackiernan, her husband and three friends
traveled to Bhutan in 2005, and Gail will share their birding experiences in
her presentation.
