Yesterday morning (Jan. 31, 2009) about 9:55 am I arrived at my trusty bucket to see what Jug Bay was going to offer me. One of the first birds I saw was soaring over the marsh and without any optics, I thought it might be a Black Vulture. As soon as a got the bins on it I realized it was a GOLDEN EAGLE. It soared around for a while then landed on a Wood Duck box for a while. It then flew straight east to the Anne Arundel shore with a couple of crows chasing it. I thought that was the last I would see of it, but then heard the crows circling around and heading my way. I looked up to see it directly over my head by 20 feet or so, as it headed north. I called Jeff Shenot and he was able to see it from his house as it flew north.
