Ruth Bergstrom led an immensely enjoyable trip at Blackwater NWR today--of course, the weather couldn't have been nicer. We saw a good number of birds, with some highlights that included a cooperative Golden Eagle in tree not far away, a flock of maybe 30 Western Sandpipers, 2 RC Kinglets, a couple of Brown-Headed Nuthatches, 8 or so Green-Winged Teal, and around 10 American Pipits. We also enjoyed seeing the good numbers of Bald Eagles, Tundra Swans, Snow Geese, Harriers, Pintails, YR Warblers, and E. Meadowlarks.
