If people are looking for other places to check, I several times saw Snow Geese (and the occasional Cackling) with the Canadas on the University of Maryland, College Park campus.? The main hangout was on the ballfields at the corner of Campus Drive and Rt. 1, but they sometimes used Fraternity Row and the large field directly across from there on the west side of Rt. 1.? Both of these locations are less than a mile from Lake Artemesia.

However, Greenbelt Lake and BARC are probably better bets.

Word has it the Snow and Ross' Geese left Lake Artemesia in College Park late
yesterday. As of 10:20 a.m. Tuesday 2-10 there are no white geese on the lake.
Lots of Canada Geese (no Cackling I could find), coots, Ring-billed Gulls,
Mallards, Ruddy and Ring-necked Ducks. A pair of Hooded Mergansers. A Horned
Grebe. Pied-billed Grebes. A single drake Redhead.

Here's to hoping the Ross' Geese come back later.
