Hey Everyone,

I just came back from Centennial Park a little while ago and the White-winged Crossbills are still there.

I arrived at 9:20am today and found Kevin Heffernan and Karen Darcy (and a couple of other birders)looking at a lone male WWCR sitting on top of a Douglas Fir tree. This is the very first set of trees on the right side just as you enter the main (south entrance) to the park. Then, Bob Ringler joined us right about this time. A few minutes later, a flock of about 16 birds flew into that tree, a mix of males and females. After about 3 minutes, the birds flew off to the left and across the entrance road and landed on a Doug Fir. They were there about 4-5 minutes, then, flew off further down near the overflow parking lot on the left where a tiny creek flows. Dave and Maureen Harvey showed up then and we all got great looks at them as they were closer and the sun was out then too. A few birds were on the ground for a couple of minutes as well.
