Hi all. Just a reminder that I will be leading a Cecil Bird Club trip tomorrow morning. Hardcore Owling.
Meet at the Dunkin Donuts parking lot in Big Elk Mall, intersection of Rt 40 and Rt 213 in Elkton at 4:00 am! (This is not a typo - the trip starts at Four O'dark in the morning. Dress for extreme cold and walking. Bring ample food and snacks or money to buy en route. Car pooling will be necessary. Some of the areas we stop have poor parking.
Usually this trip ends around 9 am with 4 species of Owl. If encouraged, I would be up for going for 6 species. Snowy Owl and Short-eared are certainly possible, but will require a lot of driving, so bring some cash to kick in to the gas tank if you are interested. We will leave the state by about a mile for one species of Owl.
My cell is 443-309-1018 for emergencies or tardiness.
