NIH first: At least 12, but may have been 2x as many on my walk to Metro heading home this evening along the Rock Creek tributary, some giving song.

S FRED CO:
Near Lees Lane south of Burkittsville was a perched juv (?) Red-tailed Hawk showing a nice red tail and dark eye.

Along Catholic Church Rd south of the intersection with Gapland Rd where a field has recently been manured i logged my first Horned Larks (a pair) of the season.

Nearby on the same farm in the small farm pond - frozen today - were a number of Red-winged BBs perched in the cattails.
