Greetings,

Since our snow storm, I have had numerous common grackles coming to the 
feeder. About 4 PM, I counted 8 common Grackles and 4 smaller black 
birds.  The smaller ones were about 8 to 9 inches in length and a very 
deep black except for a very prominent white or yellowish crescent on 
the wing.  These four birds were feeding with the Grackles and flew off 
with them when they left the feeder.  I find no pictures in my bird 
books of an all black bird with a white or yellowish crescent on the 
wing.  Anyone seen similar type birds and know what they are?
