As Paul posted just a few minutes ago I had two Red-necked Grebes off
of Hains Point, but there is in fact NO Glaucous Gull at the Tidal
Basin, there is merely a Glaucous X something hybrid, that I
communicated badly about. Managed to get all three possible grebes for
DC in the quick jaunt around the below spots, but not much else
around, besides the interesting gull.
Any thoughts on whether it is a Glaucous X Great Black-backed or a
Glaucous X Herring? Any input would be appreciated.
Full lists from today below, and pictures of the RNGR and the gull can
be seen at: http://picasaweb.google.com/goshawk227/DCAreaBirding#.
