I am glad to report that the SANDHILL CRANE was seen today at/near Piney
Reservoir in Garrett Co. Mikey Lutmerding found the individual some time
during the morning in corn fields just north of the reservoir. I was able to
find the crane at Piney proper this evening around 4:40PM. After search the
fields north I Piney, I was just returning to the reservoir when I looked up
from my car to see the crane descending from overhead. The crane glided in
and landed on the ice alongside the Canada Goose flock. Over the next 30
minutes I watched as the bird walked on ice across the entire width of the
reservoir to feed on the north bank. I will post some pictures later at:

Good luck to anyone else looking for the Sandhill Crane!

David
