I'm happy that my private bird guide took me to the western entrance of that park and I got some very close looks at male and female White-winged Crossbills for the first time. 
  At least this time I'm sure that's what they were. Two weeks ago I saw a 'fat' bird with a yellow rump fly by me. It definately looked like one of those females Crossbills.
