Around 11:00 this morning I stopped by the hemlocks on Wrighton
Road in Anne Arundel County (for the 3rd or 4th time). After about
5 minutes, some movement on the ground caught my eye - and
there were 3 female WHITE-WINGED CROSSBILLS feeding on
the ground near the far end of the row of trees. After a few
minutes they flew up into the trees and continued feeding, giving
me some great looks. As is often the case, persistence pays off!
