Hi Everyone,

Mike Walsh and I had a fun morning tracking down recent finds in Worcester and Somerset Counties, including the EURASIAN COLLARED-DOVE found by Jen and Bob Elmer in Somerset.  We searched unsuccessfully for the dove on Dividing Creek Rd (where Jen and Bob first found it); but we found it nearby on a lawn on Pocomoke River Rd.  It later flew up into a tree before disappearing.  It called loudly several times.

To reach the location where Mike and I saw the dove, travel south on Rt 13 from Princess Anne toward Pocomoke City.  Just before the Pocomoke River, turn left (north) onto Dividing Creek Rd (Rt 364).  From Dividing Creek Rd, turn right onto Pocomoke River Rd.  We saw the dove in a yard just south of the intersection with Somerset (Rd? Ln?).  This is a residential area with fairly narrow streets, barking dogs, and friendly folks who were glad to hear that we were enjoying the birds in their neighborhood.

Earlier in the day, Scott Housten took over at Truitt's as we were leaving, and he had 3 GLOSSY IBIS fly in.

I finished the day in Dorchester hoping to see the Short-eared Owl that Jim Brighton and Tom Feild found yesterday (they saw the bird in Wicomico by scanning from the end of Lewis Wharf Rd [=end of Henrys Crossroads] in Dorchester.  I didn't refind the Short-eared Owl but did hear 3 Great Horned Owls.  I later enjoyed the peenting of at least 2 AMERICAN WOODCOCK along Henrys Crossroads (NW of Elliott Island Rd).
