Others may well have already been aware of this... I was up early yesterday (thanks to early meetings at Church) and while waiting outside for a ride just before 7am [felt like 6am :)] was pleasantly surprised by at least 3 woodcocks calling, at least one of which was performing flight displays.  My count of 3 comes from 1 over head, one peent/"bzeent"ing nearby and one calling from a more distant location.  I periodically hear then after dusk (e.g. 9-10pm), but this was the first time in the morning, and with full flight display no less (I did see the one in flight too).

At least some compensation for the loss of an hour (I always liked the fall back better than the spring forward).
