Talbot County Bird Club Vists Wye Island in Queen Annes County

  On Sunday  March  8 , 2009   13 members and guests of the Talbot County Bird Club  visted Wye Island   near Queenstown  in Queen Annes County  in quest of late  waterfowl and  new arrivials . weather was  great  Trip leader Danny Poet  led the group to our regular spots were we  encountered  55 Species  highligts were 6 Woodpecker species  and newly arrived Ospreys none seen on Saturday afternoon   when I was scouting  out the place . Lowlights  No Great  Blue Herons , Could not relocate the  1 Fox Sparrow  seen  there on saturday  3 - 7 - 09  and 2   Mute Swan . The other Lowlight  was the that during  last mondays Snowstorm the the 270 year  old American Holly  located on the Island lost two Major and 2  medum size limbs  all on one side of the tree .   Bird list below  numbers are estimated

Grackle                            birds  mostly Grackles 90% the other 10% being  Redwings  
Brown - headed Cowbird      and Cowbirds   with Redwings  being the larger number in that  
House Sparrow        2  

Seen by only  one person in the group  so not on offical list
