Weather:
Mostly sunny to sunny; 50-63 degrees; fair visibility becoming excellent;
winds strong northwesterlies, 5-29 mph, gusting to 40 mph
Raptor Observations:
American Kestrels made a good showing, flying north on a mission in spite
of being buffeted about by the winds. Sharp-shinned Hawks also on the rise.
Non-raptor Observations:
All heading morth: Tree Swallows 230; gulls, mostly Ring-billed 780; crows,
likely Fish 83; several hundred blackbirds; several hundred Canada Geese;
Eastern Meadowlarks 2. Orange Sulphur butterfly.

Site Description:
Fort Smallwood Park is located on the western shore of Chesapeake Bay at
the mouth of the Patapsco River, 11 miles south of Baltimore, MD. Best
winds are from the southwest. The Park is closed to visitors on Wednesdays. |
