Yeserday, I was joined by Jeanne B, Paul N and Saundra on a nice day of birding. We first went to Jug Bay Sanctuary, where the highlight for me and the others were the Redheaded Woodpeckers. Also, in the same area an Osprey flew in and landed in a nearby tree. At Merkle we watched a few White Crowned Sparrows outside the visitors center. The White Crowned Sparrow is a bird I do not get to see in my neighborhood so I really enjoyed seeing them. The last stop was at Patuxent River Park. On the road leading into the park, Saundra spotted a Great Horned Owl. At this spot we saw an Osprey on the nest, an Eagle on a nest, quite a few GB Herons. One bird I missed that I was really hoping to see was the Wilson Snipe. I think they are hiding from me.

Here is a copy of Paul's list..... 52 species were seen

include the Graylag Goose, I typed it in opp. of Canada Goose. Also,
since I don't have Saundra's e-mail, can one of you forward the list?
Cheers, PEN
