Two notable sightings on the Potomac river today morning were an actively
foraging male Bufflehead at the northern end of the channel to the west of
Teddy Roosevelt island, and a Red-necked Grebe near the southern end of the
Washington channel (probably one of the two birds sighted previously by Ian
Davies).

We observed a pair of American Wigeons foraging actively on turf grass along
the Constitution Garden pond; six Ring-necked Ducks were also sighted.
