More Red-winged Blackbirds, Common Grackles, and Herring Gulls moving
north; 6 Horned Grebes; 1 Red-throated Loon; Ranger Matthew Grey observes
crows dislodge a Great Horned Owl in the early afternoon. Lots of turtles
basking again today; 2 calling Southern Leopard Frogs; 1 Mourning Cloak
butterfly

Site Description:
Fort Smallwood Park is located on the western shore of Chesapeake Bay at
the mouth of the Patapsco River, 11 miles south of Baltimore, MD. Best
winds are from the southwest. The Park is closed to visitors on Wednesdays. |
