Hi All,
The promising forcast for yesterday's weather was too good to pass up and
I finally made it all the way to Ocean City yesterday morning. I missed
out on reported eiders and white-winged gulls, but two GREAT CORMORANTS (
1 adult in breeding plumage and 1 immature), the EARED GREBE, 4-5 IPSWICH
SPARROWS, BOAT-TAILED GRACKLES as well as many great photo opportunities
made the trip well worthy. A loop around Blackwater NWR in the afternoon
produced 22-24 AMERICAN WHITE PELICANS, 7 WILD TURKEYS, 2 OSPREYS, an
adult RED-SHOULDERED HAWK, 3 NORTHERN HARRIERS, 3 singing PINE WARBLERS,
and a Red Fox hunting marsh critters. Having started the day at 4:30 AM I
was too tired to wait for the sun to set and the potentially lingering
Short-eared Owls and headed home around 5:45PM. A wonderful day to be out.

Photo catch of the day is already uploaded to my flickr page:

Enjoy!
