After returning home from the Eastern Shore, quickly unpacking I decided to head out to Hughes Hollow and arrived at 7 PM. In the large impoundment on the left I saw 2 Wood Ducks and counted 44 Ring-necked Ducks. I stood on the path between the large impoundment on the left and the second one on the right and tried to count the number of flyover duck species as best as I could. I stayed there until running out of daylight at approx. 7:50. My numbers attempt to take into account that some ducks circled and dropped into the back of the impoundment to the west, others fly over and out of sight but could possibly return. There were about 30 different ducks that I could not ID do to diminishing light. Here is what I came up with:

12 Mallards
6 Black Ducks
15 Green-winged Teal
5 Blue-winged Teal
4 N. Pintail (flyovers and headed in the direction of the Potomac River)
45 Wood Ducks
4 Gadwall
6 Hooded Mergansers (3 pairs at different times, each time 1 male and 1
  female)

Also heard but not seen was a Pied-billed Grebe, an A. Coot and a Barred Owl. Two Wilson's Snipe called and flew overhead. One Adult Bald Eagle flew over in the direction of the Potomac River at about 7:30 PM.
