The yearling male Harris' Sparrow showed for a few minutes at its usual
haunt in Columbia this morning. To my pleasant surprise I was joined by
Hans Holbrook shortly after arrival. The sparrow mostly stayed hidden in
the hedgerow along the fenceline toward the warehouse property west of the
park, but it came out and sang from high up in the oak trees for a little
while. Lots of Juncos, Song Sparrows, White-throated Sparrows around, a
calling Ruby-crowned Kinglet, as well as a calling red-shouldered Hawk and
a passing Sharp-shinned Hawk.

Home in Parkview Trail, Windsor Mill I saw my first of year Chipping
Sparrow while out walking the dogs this morning.

Good birding,
