Hi Everybody,

The Kent County Bird Club and Eastern Neck National Wildlife Refuge are
hosting an Owl Prowl at the Refuge Saturday evening, 28 March. We will
meet at the Lodge (visitor center/HQ) at Eastern Neck at 7:00 PM. We
will begin with a brief introduction to the owls and other nocturnal
creatures we might encounter and then head out in search of our quarry.
We hope to find Eastern Screech-Owls and perhaps encounter a Great
Horned Owl or two (alas Barred Owls do not nest on Eastern Neck Island).
We might also encounter woodcock or Virginia Rail, and hear some early
spring frogs and toads. The current forecast indicates some chance of
rain on Saturday evening. If it is too wet, the owls may be quiet, but
the amphibians won't mind. Dress for cool, damp conditions and bring a
flashlight.

Please contact us if you have any questions,
