Let him sing.
That's the thing. Loud and clear so all can hear.
Save the tree, but don't believe me, CO 2 should not be free.
Why sleep so late.
Be early to the gate to hear the concert that sounds so great.
The MET could use him, and you don't really want to lose him.
Let him sing.

Does anyone know Mockingbirdese? I need to have a serious discussion with Mr. Mocker about his behavioral problem. Namely, waking me up at 6 AM singing his entire repertoire of operas and saying Pretty Bird in eight languages - and this goes on for hours. Should I cut down the sweet gum tree - his center stage? All ideas welcome. Millie

    Folks

Shortly after 6 PM my neighbor Zeke called to tell me there was a flock of Wild Turkeys in his yard. They were heading toward the road. I quickly went outside and counted the 17 birds as they carefully walked across Mill Hill Road between burst of passing vehicles. All but two were females.

Today in our yard I had a pair of Yellow-bellied Sapsuckers doing some pre-breeding behavior. The male would drum on a hard dead tree, then the female would fly to the tree he was drumming on. I heard the male say, "Buy you a drink?" Really. They should be heading north soon. I wish them safe passage and a successful breeding season.

    George
