Hi all,

Went to Columbia, Md. and saw the 1st yr. Harris' Sparrow (life bird) at
the
previously described location. While I was
watching Dark-eyed Juncos and Song Sparrows Leo W. arrived. We scanned the
feeder behind the building,
from the dirt path across the stream. Not seeing the Harris'. Leo left and
I
was about to leave, we joked that the sparrow would show itself. I decided
to
wait a few minutes longer and watch. It was 4:45pm. Another birder arrived,

(Mark- many thanks for spotting it) and found the Harris. It was on the
grassy
area between the building and the leaves on the edge of the grass. There
are
two small green bushes near the building it was around too. I would suggest
to
some to bring a spotting scope, if you are across from the building at the
picnic tables and view through the trees. The Harris is definitely bigger
(slight) than the White throateds and grayer overall too. Other birds seen
in
the area included:

Fox Sparrow 2
Song Sparrow 6+
American Goldfinch (many)
American Robins (many)
White thr Sparrows
Dark eyed Juncos (many)
Turkey Vulture
Red bellied Woodpecker
Carolina Wren
White breasted Nuthatch
