After a successful find of the HARRIS' SPARROW in Columbia, I drove to Gibson Island Causeway to try for the GREATER WHITE-FRONTED GOOSE. Just as in previous posts, I parked by the security gate. The quard at the gate motioned to me , and after asking, I told him about the Goose. He seemed surprised that anyone would take time to look at birds, but other than that, seemed friendly enough. The residents must have been asking what I was looking at, because every once in awhile would hear "bird" being said by the security guard. After about 20 minutes or so, I did see the bird in flight. Unfortunately, all the water access is bordered by homes, so I couldn't scope from the location where I thought the bird may have flown, because of private property. After a quick stop at a local supermarket, I decided to go back and eat my lunch at the Goose spot, but did not have any luck seeing the bird again. Back home, I did have my FOY GRAY CATBIRD. Good Birding to all!
