Anna Urciolo, Joy Bowen, and I were able quite quickly to relocate
the young male Harris's Sparrow this morning, 3/26, behind the
commercial office building in Columbia where it has been reported
over the last few days. We saw it first around 9:30 a.m. and watched
it on and off as it perched in the trees behind the thistle feeder
and fed briefly on the ground beneath the feeder. We did not hear it sing.

Other interesting birds on and around the feeders were a (Red) Fox
Sparrow on the ground and a Ruby-crowned Kinglet on the suet
feeder. Several Pine Siskins joined American Goldfinches at the thistle.

The office workers are clearly used to seeing birders behind their
building and waved in friendly fashion. There were no other birders
present when we left just before 10:00 a.m. and we saw no sign of any
security personnel.
