Lower Kingman and Heritage islands were abuzz with song as Northern
Cardinals, Song Sparrows, Northern Flickers, Red-winged Blackbirds,
Ruby-crowned Kinglets, Carolina Chickadees, Brown-headed Cowbirds, and a
Northern Flicker chimed in with gusto.

Other sightings of note were an adult Bald Eagle, a pair of Wood Ducks, and
an Eastern Phoebe. I also caught an extremely fleeting glimpse of a bird
whose size, shape, color and behavior seemed to suggest a Winter Wren.

An observation of interest from a week ago was an Osprey with a fish getting
ambushed by an adult Bald Eagle. The Osprey relinquished the fish into the
tidal channel below and the eagle quickly acquired it, flew to a perch on
the side of the channel, and proceeded to consume its ill-begotten gains.
