Painted Bunting-NO, Harris's Sparrow- YES, Black-Headed Gull at Back River

Hey everyone-

Kevin Graff, Pete Webb, and I stopped by the Painted Bunting spot this morning, but had no luck in about an hour's stay.  We swung by the Harris's spot so Pete could see it, and the bird was very cooperative, frequently coming right under the feeders.  We then headed to Back River to see if we could find Mikey's Little Gull from yesterday.  While we didn't find the Little Gull, we did, with help from Jeff Shenot, find a BLACK-HEADED GULL among the Bonies.  The gulls were on the docks seen from the restaurant behind the Royal Farms on Island Point Rd.  We were able to pick the bird out due to its size, thickness of its bill, leg color, and, when in flight, the black wing patches that are diagnostic of Black-Headed Gull.
