Hi all,
Made the rounds on usual haunts, the morning being fairly quiet. Lake
Frank
was void of waterfowl
except for a couple of Mallards, but I didn't check the coves. Lake
Needwood
had a little more activity:
a flock of Fish Crows and Double Crested Cormorants in high breeding
plumage.
While observing them,
one cormorant yawned, and the inside of it's mouth is powder blue~hadn't
noticed that before.
Lake Frank:
Eastern Phoebe 1 (singing)
Turkey Vultures 5
Chickadees and Titmice
American Robins
Dark eyed Juncos 4
Northern Cardinal
Fish Crows 10
Lake Needwood:
Mallard 5
Canada Geese 30
Double crested Cormorant 8
Fish Crows 35-40 (very vocal: "ah, ha!")
Red shouldered Hawk 1
Belted Kingfisher 1
Turkey Vulture 6
Killdeer 1
Golden crowned Kinglets
American Goldfinches
American Robins
