I dropped by the US Naval Academy Dairy Farm in Gambrills, MD (AA
County). The sun peaked out and the birds started to pour into the
sky. I have never seen so many Kestrels in one location. At one
point, I had 5 sitting in a row on top of fence posts down by the farm
pond. Others were moving on, flying over. It was quite impressive.
Two Harriers were nice as well, one adult male, one youngster. Also
notable: the sheer numbers of gulls on the freshly-plowed portion of
the field. Definitely worth another look soon.

In other news, Chris Murray and I had two ROYAL TERNS in Weems Creek
