I spent time on Friday afternoon and Saturday morning birding the ponds on
Rt. 309 in Queen Anne's County and Tuckahoe.

At Tuckahoe, the Pine Warblers and Towhees were in full song. I had 2
Winter Wrens skulking along the edge of the lake in the dense undergrowth.
An Osprey showed up early on Saturday morning. It was calling loudly,
making it hard to miss.

The ponds on 309 had no unusual ducks but there were 2 Greater Yellowlegs.
Of special interest were 2 Sandpipers in the small "pond" on the road just
off of 309, on the way to Tuckahoe. This road has no shoulder, but I did
manage to spend some time looking at the birds ... in poor light. After
viewing and doing some research based on Mr. Dunne's "Essential Field Guide
Companion", I believe they were Western Sandpipers.
