Hi all,
Lately I've been checking the little pond in the middle of the Grosvenor Park apartment complex hoping for the return of one of the Yellow-crowned Night-herons that were here for (at least) a few weeks last fall. I did find a night-heron, but not the one I was expecting. There was a single Black-crowned Night-heron roosting in the bushy tree overhanging the water between the two lobes of the pond.
I also had a Great Egret on Sunday in the pond on the corner of Tuckerman Ln and Brewer House Rd. It created a stir among the non-birders in the neighborhood. Now I just need a Little Blue Heron or a Snowy Egret to round out my neighborhood heron list.
