Happy to note a brown Purple Finch in our yard today, and our Pheobe, which
arrived last Wednesday, was singing *in* the garage this morning after Bob
came home from an errand and left the door open. We have to remind ourselves
to shut the door during the day to keep the Phoebe and Carolina Wrens out.
For some reason both are fascinated with our garage.

On an ecological note, I found a neat website that talks about studies being
done on Golden Eagle migration patterns to get data on how high they fly, to
see if wind turbines will be a problem for them. Although the study is not
done in Maryland, it may be of interest, and the photos that accompany it
are impressive:

(I expect some on this list are already familiar with Marcia Bonta's work,
but I just "discovered" her.)
